Why is it better to use less Gadolinium in MRI examinations?
Gadolinium is a heavy metal used in brain MRI. In recent years, Gadolinium-based contrast agents have been associated with different types of toxicity. Also, Gadolinium deposits have been confirmed in brain tissue. Patients who are sensitive to contrast agents, such as those with kidney problems, children, and pregnant women, cannot undergo a full-dose injection.
